The Ann Arbor Independent’s Editorial Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Megan Blackshear as our newest member. Ms. Blackshear, a local business owner who, along with husband Peter, owns the independent bookstore Bookbound, joined the Editorial Board in March 2014. Her appointment brings to seven the number of community members shaping this newspaper’s unsigned editorials.

The Editorial Board members look forward to working together with Ms. Blackshear. We welcome her perspectives and expertise as we engage our community in meaningful dialogue.

The Editorial Board would also like to announce the election of Mr. John C. Floyd, III as our new Chair. Mr. Floyd takes over from Katherine Griswold, who served from October 2013-March 2014. Ms. Griswold will remain on the Editorial Board.

Mr. Floyd, 56, is a graduate of Huron High School. He earned degrees in economics, public policy and accounting and finance from Oberlin College, the University of Michigan and DePaul University.
