Closure of Southbound Lane of North First Street Between Miller Avenue and Ann Street and Eastbound Lane of Miller Avenue Between

Chapin Street and North First Street

Thursday, Dec. 14–Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023

Weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023, and is estimated to conclude by Saturday, Dec 16, 2023. During construction, the southbound lane of North First Street will be closed between Miller Avenue and Ann Street. Vehicles traveling southbound on North First Street will detour east on Miller Avenue, then south on North Ashley Street, then west on East Ann Street.

The eastbound lane on Miller Avenue will also be closed between Chapin Street and North First Street. Vehicles traveling eastbound on Miller Avenue will detour south on Chapin Street, then east on West Huron Street, then north on North First Street. 

In all areas, pedestrian through-traffic will be maintained on one side of the street as will local access to businesses and driveways.

Full Closure of White Street between McKinley Avenue and Brookwood Place

Wednesday, Dec. 13–Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023​

Beginning Wednesday, Dec. 13, northbound vehicle traffic traveling on White Street will be detoured east onto Brookwood Place, north on Packard Street, west on McKinley Avenue and back to White Street. Southbound vehicle traffic will be detoured east on McKinley Avenue, south on Packard Street, west on Brookwood Place, and ​then back onto White Street.​

Pedestrian traffic will be detoured to the west side of White Street.

Closure of Northbound Lane of South First Street Between West William Street and West Huron Street: Monday, Dec. 11–Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023;

and

Closure of Westbound Lane of West Washington Street Between South Ashley Street and South First Street: Monday, Dec. 11–Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023;

and

Closure of Eastbound Lane of West Huron Street Between Railroad Tracks and South First Street: Wednesday, Dec. 13–Friday, Dec. 23, 2023​

Weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, and is estimated to conclude by Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023. During construction, the northbound lane on South First Street will be closed between West William Street and West Huron Street. Vehicles traveling northbound on South First will detour east on West William Street, then north on South Ashley Street, then west on West Huron Street.

Westbound lane on West Washington Street will also be closed between South Ashley Street and South First Street. Vehicles traveling westbound on West Washington Street will detour south on South Ashley Street, then west on West Liberty Street, then north on 3rd Street.

Also, beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13 and ending by Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023, the southernmost eastbound lane on West Huron Street will be closed from the railroad tracks west of West Huron Street and South First Street intersection to approximately 200 feet east of the West Huron Street and South First Street intersection.

In all areas, pedestrian through-traffic will be maintained on one side of the street as will local access to businesses and driveways.

Full Closure of South Forest Avenue Between Hill Street and Willard Street;

7:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11–5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023

Beginning 7:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, northbound South Forest Avenue traffic will be detoured west to Church Street, then north on Church Street to Willard Street, then east on Willard Street back to South Forest Avenue. Southbound South Forest Avenue traffic will be detoured west on Willard Street to Church Street, then south on Church Street to Hill Street, then east on Hill Street back to South Forest Avenue. 

Pedestrian traffic will be maintained on the west side of South Forest Avenue. 

Eastbound lane closure of Geddes Avenue Between Washtenaw Avenue and Observatory Street  

*Closure extended: 7 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27–5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2023
Beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, eastbound vehicles traveling on Geddes Avenue will be detoured south on Washtenaw Avenue, north on Observatory Street, and back to Geddes Avenue. The westbound vehicles traveling on Geddes Avenue will continue westbound and will not be impacted.

Pedestrian traffic on the south side of Geddes Avenue will be detoured to the north side of the street.​

Closure of West William Street Between First and Second Streets; and Closure West Washington Street Between First to Third Streets

Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023–Friday, Jan. 19, 2024

Weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, and is estimated to conclude by Friday, Jan. 19, 2024. During construction, West William Street will be closed immediately west of South First Street. Vehicles traveling westbound on West William Street will detour north on South First Street, then west on West Liberty Street, then south on Second Street. Vehicles traveling eastbound West William Street traffic will detour north on Second Street, then east on West Liberty Street, then south on South First Street. ​

West Washington Street will also be closed west of the railroad tracks, approximately 350 feet west of the West Washington Street and South First Street intersection. Vehicles traveling westbound on West Washington Street will detour south on South First Street, then west on West Liberty Street, then north on Third Street. Vehicles traveling eastbound on West Washington Street will detour south on Third Street, then east on West Liberty Street, then north on South First Street.

In all areas, pedestrian through-traffic will be maintained on one side of the street as will local access to businesses and driveways.
