Your Vote Matters!

Ann Arbor’s only Black mayor, Albert Wheeler, was elected by one vote in 1978. In 2009, the Ward 3 City Council race between incumbent Leigh Greden and Stephen Kunselman was decided by six votes.

On August 2, 2022, Ann Arbor voters will go to the polls to decide on an AAATA millage increase, and to cast votes in five City Council races (competitive races in Wards 1, 4 and 5), as well as in the mayoral primary election. To request an absentee ballot, or to find your local polling place, please click here. Ann Arbor residents may register to vote in-person at the City Clerk’s office until 4 p.m. on July 30th. Polling places are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on election day. To get election results on August 2, click here
