Crime Report: Over Last 30 Days, In Ann Arbor 349 Crimes Reported, Including 12 Sex Crimes

The Ann Arbor Independent Crime Reports for Washtenaw County includes cities and townships. The weekly Crime Report also includes Trial Court prosecutions of Capital Felonies charged by the County Prosecutor, such as murders, weapons crimes, sex crimes, domestic violence and felony assault.

This map (courtesy of Crimemapping.com) shows the locations of the 365 crimes reported between June 30-July 30 by victims to the Ann Arbor Police Dept. and the University of Michigan Police Dept. The majority of the crimes reported were assaults, including felony assaults and domestic violence. There were 20 vehicles stolen in that month and 45 vehicle break-ins. There were 22 burglaries, 12 sex crimes and 6 robberies. The majority of the robberies were armed robberies that involved weapons.

In 2021, the Ann Arbor Police Dept. reported a total of 4,732 crimes and the University of Michigan Police Dept. reported a total of 855 crimes. The AAPD solved 22.6 percent of the crimes reported, well below the state average policing agency clearance rate. The University of Michigan Police Dept. solved 29 percent of crimes reported.
