LETTER TO THE EDITOR: “Potholes Aren’t The Fault Of The City”
Our city council members need to have regular updates about the “happenings” in the Michigan Legislature. But I want to thank you for pointing out the absurdity of paying a lobbyist $50,000 to “carry the news” between Lansing and Ann Arbor. Mr. Profit chooses to represent competing interests throughout Washtenaw County.
It’s true that $50,000 might seem an insignificant amount to pay to have someone in Lansing looking out for the city’s interests. But given Mr. Profit’s list of clients I’m not sure it’s possible for him to do that.
I like the idea of city council members asking Rep. Jeff Irwin and Sen. Rebekah Warren to speak to Ann Arbor City Council on a regular basis. After all they are our real paid lobbyists in Lansing.
